Lancaster County

Lancaster County was founded in 1729. It was a part of William Penn's original 1681 charter but was considered a section of Chester County until it was organized to be the fourth county in Pennsylvania. Fun fact, there are multiple inventions that came from Lancaster such as the Conestoga Wagon and the Stogie cigar. It is the home of beautiful covered bridges, hot air balloon festival and several sites from the movie Witness with Harrison Ford.
