Berks County

Berks County was founded in 1752. It presently consists of over 866 square miles divided into multiple municipalities and is home to an Old Order Mennonite Community. Pennsylvania's founder William Penn named this county after the English county in which his family home lay - Berkshire, abbreviated to Berks. It is the home of the Reading pagoda, Daniel Boone Homestead, Albright College and Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.

Berks County is one of southeastern Pennsylvania's best-kept secrets - a place where your dollar stretches further without giving up quality of life. You'll find a genuine mix of borough charm, suburban convenience, and wide-open countryside.
